A T-Switch (more commonly known as a "Y" in railway terminology) is a large switch that has points that can direct trains in three directions, or turn them, which is especially convenient on a point-to-point layot. They came with two track adapters to make for easier use in sets. Even though they have been discontinued individually, they are still a common find in sets today.
