Elizabeth is a "vintage" Sentinal Lorry. Like most Lorries, she thinks that roads are more important than rails, and is often rude to the other engines proving this point.

- In concept art for Thomas & Friends, Elizabeth's truck bed could tip back. This function was never actually depicted in the television series, but still carried over to the Wooden Railway vehicle.
- The prototype Elizabeth features larger, all black headlights, a black funnel on her roof in place of a nail, a bigger, flatter face, and longer, thinner front windows.
- Elizabeth is one of the few characters that do not smile.
- Elizabeth's basis was later used for Isabella.
