- Bert uses the same basis as the 2015 Mike. They however do not share a basis in the Railway Series nor television series.
- Concept artwork for Bert does not feature his headlamp and also features his tender placed on the same chassis as his main body, much like Stephen. His nameplate also has his name misspelled as Birt.
