Trivia

  • The 1998 Mike features plastic coal, whereas most of the engines still had painted coal that same year. This was also the case for Duke.
  • Mike was the only engine introduced in 1998 to have the original style of plastic funnel, as opposed to Duncan.
  • Mike is not featured in the 2003-2004 pamphlets, however, he is featured in the 2003-2004 yearbooks.
  • The 1998 Mike always had a cab ledge despite being available after 2002 when most other engines' cab ledges were removed. This also happened with Splatter and Dodge.
    • The 1998 Mike also never had a square piece running down the middle of his cab ledge, even though most other engines' cab ledges had one. Splatter and Dodge wouldn't lose the square pieces running down the middle of their cab ledges until late 2002 when most engines lost their cab ledges altogether.
