2013 was the twentieth full year of Thomas Wooden Railway. From this year on, the line was made by Mattel in Fisher-Price's product ranges. This was also the year in which wheel dates were updated to reflect the line's change in ownership, and the yearbook received checkboxes again to keep track of one's collection. Products also gained more-rounded edges for safety purposes. In addition, plastic was included increasingly into destinations and vehicles in order to cut down on production costs. Build quality was also lowered significantly, with the wooden parts aside from those on vehicles now mainly being medium-density fiberboard, which is a faux wood made of sawdust and glue. Many destinations also feature more detailed graphics and various characters making cameo appearances on the destination itself, which is a feature carried over from Fisher-Price's other merchandise line, Take-n-Play.

Avaliable Products

Since the line is under a new company, everything released is technically new for Mattel. Items that are new or reintroduced to the Wooden Railway overall are noted.
